The Philippine Department of Justice has recommended the filing of multiple murder charges against Edward Go, vice president of Sulpicio Lines. Sulpicio Lines is the company behind MV Princess of the Stars, the passenger ship which sank a year ago. Hundreds of Filipino passengers died.
DOJ Secretary Agnes Devenadera announced the filing of charges shortly after hundreds of victims of Sulpicio Lines visited her office today. Devenadera said the DOJ panel found Edward Go liable for the tragedy due to his direct management of the company. Go is being indicted for the crime of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide.
